National Aluminium Company Limited

National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) is a public sector enterprise owned by the Government of India. Established in 1981, NALCO is one of the largest integrated bauxite–alumina–aluminium–power complexes in the country. The company operates in the mining, metal, and power sectors, encompassing bauxite mining, alumina refining, aluminium smelting and casting, power generation, rail and port operations. NALCO is recognized as the lowest-cost producer of metallurgical grade alumina and bauxite globally. The company has a significant presence in the export market, with export earnings accounting for about 42% of the sales turnover in the year 2018–19. NALCO is also a leader in renewable energy among public sector enterprises, with 198 MW of wind power plants commissioned and an additional 50 MW in the pipeline.
